Very British Problems

I’ve been watching a program on Netflix called Very British Problem. You should watch it, its hillarious. It explains, in a sort of comic way, of how Brits behave.

They said, very british problems, among others are:

1. Awkward handshake, should we hug, kiss on the cheek? or just do a very firm handshake… the introduction is the worst.
2. They prefer to be silent on public transportation, and would be annoyed if they see someone they know getting on the same bus. They might even get off the bus and catch the next one just to avoid unnecesarry conversation.
3. They prefer not to see the neighbor for chitchat, the conversation must not go pass the weather.
4. They are reserved, they would be quiet if someone stepped accidentally on your foot on the basis of not wanting to start a debate.
5. Houseguests who overstay their welcome could put a british host in a very awkward situation.
6. Why do you want to know my name while serving coffee? I dont know your name. Some will give fake names so people would not know their real names.
7. They invented sports to express their feelings. Anything could happen during sports game, afterwards the emotions are hidden.
8. British jokes are dry because they can only be understood by Brits. Surprisingly, I always enjoy watching Brit comedies on the telly, even when @ms.pardede always said, “garing amat sih ini”

I think I can relate to most of the Very British Problems. Maybe, I too am British… Since I’m going to visit the UK next month, I immediately sent a message to my host,

“I promise you, i will not overstay my welcome, and you are in charge of the tv and everything. You would not notice that I’m there while I’m working on my writing…”

And he said, that might be translated as “that is mighty british of you”
