This is a very inspiring story from my friend in Egypt about her dad. He refused to corrupt in order to keep his position. He quit the job but ends up with an encouraging result. She says,

hii binsar!!
How’s it going with u ?
I wanted to share something I thought to be very interesting.
Remember last year in Caux, the Anti corruption Course you were giving. I attended it. I don’t know if you remember, but the story I shared was about my dad getting offered a job in a very sensitive position in one of the governmental offices, which has a lot of responsibilities, but basically the entire projects that he was suppose to be working on, would be on a grand from the EU. And the man he was to sign the contract with, wanted him to write in his contract the double salary he originally wanted and split the money between them both. My dad thought that was robbery and stealing and refused the job.

My dad got a fone call a week ago, by another man in the same department, asking him why he refused the job position that was offered him last year. My dad refused to give his reasons, but only commented, that the terms didn’t suite him. The man later said that he wanted to meet him, and turned out to be that the other man, the one from last year, went to JAIL on corruption issues along with 2 other people and the 3rd person who took the job offer my dad refused.
The man later asked to meet up with him and wants to sign a contract with any terms my dad wanted. Basically to be working on that grand from the EU on environment- friendly projects here in Egypt.

The man said they needed someone who knows his work well but more someone who’s honest and they heird about my dad. And that last eyar’s situation turned out to be a good thing after.
My dad’s only comment about this was, that when someone does the right thing, it never goes away and God then always gives far better than anyone expected.
Elhamdulellah ( Thank God) for everything.
